Professional Training on Porn Addiction & Recovery Praised
Posted: April 22, 2009
Larry and Wendy Maltz provided a day-long professional training entitled "Escaping the Porn Trap: Treating Problems Caused by Pornography" on April 17th in Portland, Oregon. It was sponsored by the Mentorship Institute and AMHA-OR. Participants described the Maltzes as "extremely knowledgeable and skilled presenters" who present an "honest and balanced approach that is not moralistic or judgmental". The workshop was also described as "well-organized" and providing up-to-date information and much-needed tools for addressing a serious and growing problem being revealed in therapist's offices. This was the third time the Maltzes have given this day-long training seminar together. They presented in Edmonton, Canada (at the Lousage Institute) and Eugene, Oregon (with the Oregon Mental Health Practitioners Association) in the fall of 2008. Additional trainings are being planned for 2010 in locations such as New Jersey, Texas and other locations.
